Hagaman WWII Veterans meet Attorney General Blumenthal
WWII veterans, Ed Misbach (top right) and Harry Maresca (bottom right) of the Hagaman Library's WWII Veterans Discussion Group, spoke with Attorney General Blumenthal at the 10th annual Veterans Awareness Day. Veterans Awareness Day is held at Quinnipiac University each year on the Friday before Memorial Day. High school students from surrounding areas are brought in and each student is given a booklet with war related questions. They must interact with veterans in order to answer these questions.
The goal of the event is to have students see the connection between service and citizenship, and to recognize the sacrifices veterans have made.
A number of veterans from the WWII Veterans Discussion Group attended the event.
